Often, this promotes healing to an injured area of the body. | has gloss | deu: Als transdermales Pflaster oder transdermales therapeutisches System (TTS oder TDS) wird ein Applikations-Medium für verschiedene Arzneiwirkstoffe bezeichnet, welches auf die Haut in Form eines Pflasters aufgeklebt wird. Auf diese Weise können Wirkstoffe direkt über die Haut in das Blutgefäßsystem gelangen, ohne durch den Magen-Darm-Trakt und die Leber zu müssen. Transdermale Pflaster werden seit über zwanzig Jahren zu verschiedenen Zwecken eingesetzt. Die ältesten Varianten sind Scopolamin-Pflaster gegen Reisekrankheit, Nitroglycerin-Pflaster zur Vorbeugung gegen Angina pectoris und Herzinfarkt sowie ein Clonidin-Pflaster gegen Bluthochdruck. Eine der bekanntesten Varianten stellt dabei das Nikotinpflaster zur Entwöhnung von Rauchern dar. Bei diesem Pflaster wird dem Körper kontrolliert der Suchtstoff Nikotin zugeführt. Weitere Anwendungen des Pflasters umfassen die Hormongabe von Estrogenen, evtl. in Kombination mit Gestagenen, oder Testosteron bei Hormonmangel sowie als Verhütungsmittel (siehe Hormonpflaster). |
