Founded in August 1995 as "Interactive Investor International" the site was redesigned and the name was changed to Interactive Investor following its withdrawal from the South African and Asian markets. The site currently has 1.6 million registered users (as of 2008) . Interactive Investor was acquired from AMP by CAPACC (Capital Accumulation Limited) in March 2004, and is headed up by Tomàs Carruthers.
